Before 1975, the Company Branch (former Tan Binh Chemical Factory) was called COPHATA, built in 1969, owned by a Chinese. At that time, the main product was only sulfuric acid and single alum. In 1973, Aluminium Hydroxide was added to the main product list.
After the date of April 30, 1975, the state took over COPHATA and assigned it to the South Basic Chemical Company to manage on July 21, 1976 according to the decision No. 240/HC of the General Department of Chemicals. Since then, COPHATA was officially renamed to Tan Binh Chemical Factory.
Before 2009, Tan Binh Chemical Factory had 04 production lines: production line sulfuric acid, production line aluminum sulfate alum, production line aluminum hydroxide and distillation line pure sulfuric acid.
Implementing the policy of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on environmental protection, the South Basic Chemical Company moved to relocate the sulfuric acid production line (in 2009) and the alum production line. aluminum sulfate (2011) to Chemical Factory Tan Binh 2; pure sulfuric acid distillation line (2011) to Bien Hoa Chemical Factory.
On January 29, 2010, South Basic Chemical Company issued notice No. 062/TB-HCCB to terminate the operation of the sulfuric acid production workshop and rearrange the organizational structure at Tan Binh Chemical Factory.
On June 20, 2012, South Basic Chemical Company issued Decision No. 324/QD-MN to establish BRANCH OF SOUTH BASIC CHEMICALS COMPANY LIMITED (hereinafter referred to as Branch of Company), continues to manufacture and trade aluminum hydroxide products Al(OH)3 as well as provide services previously undertaken by Tan Binh Chemical Factory.
Products of the Company’s branch are widely applied in many industries such as: electronic technology, battery production, paper production, fertilizer production, alum production, water treatment, etc.
In order to meet the increasing demands of customers, Corporate Branch continuously increases capacity, improves product quality by a combination of traditional technology and modern technology.
